Improving Evaluation through Dialogue

PrEval starts with joint discussion on work program and objectives

On December 9, 2022, the official kick-off of the project “PrEval – Zukunftswerkstätten” took place in Berlin. The event was attended by around 50 participants, who discussed with each other on site and via video conference.

The focus was on the roadmap for the next three years: The individual subprojects/-work packages presented their work processes as well as the targeted objectives and output planning. As in the previous project the aim is again to promote the exchange between research and pro-fessional practice and to make this the basis for joint research. There will be “Zukunftswerkstätten” to identify re-commendations for the further development of formats and structures that can strengthen evaluation in the pre-vention of extremism, the promotion of democracy and civic education.

The individual work packages have different objectives. Work package 1 is divided into three sub-work packages. The existing PrEval platform will be continued and expanded, international monitoring will be extended, and the landscape of evaluation research will be examined. The results of this monitoring will then be compiled in a PrEval Monitor, which will be published in a publicly accessible form.

Work package 2 develops new evaluation designs and instruments for specific contexts in pilot studies. The focus is on digital formats of civic education and on evaluation in security-relevant cooperation contexts as well as on client-centered evaluation in complex counseling settings. The pilot studies will be made openly accessible in the course of the project in the form of further PrEval Reports.

Work packages 3, 4 and 5 focus on the needs for databases on evaluation reports, helpdesks and knowledge networks around evaluation and quality management. Based on these needs, solution-oriented approaches are to be developed and options for action are to be identified, which are to include as many perspectives of potential users as possible.

The PrEval project and its various formats are always happy to welcome further interested participants. Together with the PrEval partners, further information on how to get involved will soon be made available on this website.

The PrEval network is to be continuously expanded and already made first further contacts at the kick off-event, which are to be deepened in the further cooperation in the coming months and years.
