This year, the AK Demokratie is once again organizing a spring conference in cooperation with the PrEval project. On June 3 and 4 in Berlin, under the motto “AI and Democracy: Should we automate democracy(promotion) and its evaluation?”, the relevance, risks and opportunities of technological changes for the research fields involved will be discussed. The focus is always on the question: Can artificial intelligence improve democracy (promotion) and its evaluation or is it ultimately more of a danger?

Discussions are held with representatives of evaluation organizations, researchers, civil society actors and the responsible federal ministries. Interactive dialogue formats and input from experienced experts will be used to address political and ethical challenges as well as AI-supported data collection methods and the potential for knowledge transfer. 

Above all, the conference aims to encourage interactive exchange. It will provide an opportunity to network with colleagues from the PrEval network, the AK Demokratie and beyond. On the first day in particular, there will be the opportunity to gain a closer insight into the work of PrEval.
