Evaluated - and then?

A short input from dist[ex] in cooperation with PrEval

dist[ex] and PrEval invite you to a first quality circle: “Evaluated - and then?” An experience report and peer-to-peer exchange on the implementation and uptake of the evaluation of the API NRW

External evaluations are an integral part of quality management in the practice of preventing extremism. When implementing the measures, the various phases of an evaluation present different challenges and conditions for success, which we want to examine together:

  • How can a needs-based, transparent and, above all, sustainable evaluation succeed that leaves enough room for learning and exchange processes?
  • How can recommendations be translated into strategic decisions and working methods be sustainably improved?

Colleagues from the "Aussteigerprogramm Islamismus" (API) of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia will report on their evaluation process and, together with the external evaluator, present their experiences of science-practice cooperation in planning, implementing and using the results of the evaluation. The various conditions for success and recommendations for action within the evaluation process will be presented and concrete starting points for implementing the recommended measures will be outlined.

We then want to offer a platform for networking and sharing your experiences and needs in this area in a confidential setting. Together, we want to discuss recommendations for evaluation practice, learn from each other and talk about individually adaptable solutions.

Speakers

Sandra Fabry (Dipl. Päd./ M. A. Criminologist) has been an exit facilitator in the "Aussteigerprogramm Islamismus" (API) of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2018. Prior to this, she worked for many years in prevention work for various independent organizations helping the homeless and ex-prisoners.

Lisa Neumann (Social Work B.A.) has been an exit counselor in the "Aussteigerprogramm Islamismus" (API) of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2016. Before that, she worked as a social worker in a prison for male adults.

Both are involved in the evaluation working group in the API and are therefore intensively involved in the evaluation processes and the subsequent implementation of the recommendations for action.

Marion Lempp (M.A. Social Work) has many years of experience in various conceptualization and evaluation projects in (extremism) prevention, including as a research assistant at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. She is also a lecturer for conception and quality in childhood education at the Evangelische Hochschule Ludwigsburg. She is currently working as a freelancer in the scientific support of the implementation of evaluation recommendations in the prevention of extremism and the conception of educational measures.
